He moved Moses from Mt. Horeb through Pharaoh’s palace in Egypt to Mount Sinai with so much wonders but he didn’t show himself physically to Moses through the years of his relationship with God.
Walking with God requires absolute faith and doing away with human senses. By human sense, Moses was so foolish to walk with someone he didn’t see, but just the voice, yet he kept obeying Him through signs, wonders and miracles.
At Horeb, Moses saw the bush burning and still turning green more and more. At Egypt, Moses witnessed the miracles of waters in the rivers, pools, wells and lakes turned to blood, and the invasion by locusts as plagues on Egyptians’ crops, yet God did not appear to him the more.
God demonstrated to him to perform miracles before Pharaoh with rods turned to snakes and his hand became leprous when put under his armpit. He did all, but God did not show himself.
At the Red Sea, the sea parted ways by the order of God working on Moses’ rod pointed to the Red Sea to part ways for the Israelites to pass through and thereby closed against the Egyptian armies and drowned their chariots after the Israelites had passed the sea. Yet, God did not show himself.
At Mt. Sinai, the mountain was covered in thick smoke, black clouds and fire, with intense lightning and a deafening blast of a trumpet.
The Israelites were terrified of dying.
The sights and sounds were so overwhelming that they stepped back and begged Moses to be their mediator, pleading not to hear God’s voice directly. Yet, Moses, their prophet, did not see God face to face in all these.
Psalm 114:4 recorded it that at the Lord’s appearance, the mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
After many years of various encounters without ever seeing God’s face, Prophet Moses broke his silence and asked that God should show him His face, if briefly.
But God told him no human could see His face and live. That was because of His overwhelming holiness. Instead, in Exodus 24:9–11, God hid Moses in a cleft in the rock and covered him with His hand, allowing Moses to see only His back as His glory passed. Also, the elders with Moses, like Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy elders of Israel, were privileged to see the God of Israel like a flash of light standing on a hewn sapphire rock.
Nobody has ever seen God physically and lived. None has been as close to His appearance of like a flash light as Moses and the elders.
Even though no man has seen God before, His marvelous works and great wonders as revealed to Moses are convincing that there is a supernatural force/Spirit Being called God, Jehovah, behind the wonders and the creation of the universe.
God is supernatural Spirit responsible for life.
The work of His hands are enough testimonies of His existence.
His Various Works Are Testimonies of His Existence
1. Testimony of the Sun
The Sun provides an awesome display of light and controls all life in the universe.
A.
The Sun provides food for all living things to depend on for existence.
In school, photosynthesis teaches how plants manufacture food for animals through sunlight to produce rice, yam, cassava, plantain, etc.
There is an experiment that plants will die in the absence of sunlight by covering the green grasses with an upside-down plastic or opaque cloth material and see how it turns grey and dead in few days because it lacks food.
B.
The Sun causes change in day and night that creates the time, hours and minutes for all plants and animals to sleep and wake up.
C.
The Sun causes rain to fall which provides water for all plants and animals to grow.
D.
The Sun causes wind to blow, cooling down heat on earth from burning all lives to death.
E.
The Sun produces water currents for sea plants and animals to breathe in oxygen.
F.
In Physical Science and Engineering, solar heat provides solar power through channels to blow fans, cool air conditioners, preserve refrigerators and make many machines function.
G.
The Sun is used in Medical Science to carry out X-rays through radiation and create images of the inside of the body.
H.
The Sun causes change in seasons such that we have rainy and dry seasons in tropical regions, and winter, autumn, spring and summer in temperate regions that humans avail for cultivation and harvesting of plants.
Almost all our needs in life are provided through the Sun.
The Sun acts as a powerful messenger of an invisible God performing all divine functions on Earth.
Yet, it is only one Sun throughout the universe. It is not a living soul nor spirit. It has never been tired, sick, late to work, out of function due to an error, dead or disappointing.
It comes on time and sets on time, timely in all its functions over millennia of creation.
This is awesome.
The Sun is extremely hot that no living thing or soul can go near it and not be destroyed.
2. Testimony of Our Dreams
Dreams show us we are made of both the Spirit of God, human souls and physical body.
The soul lives inside the body and travels each night roaming about in dreams while the physical body lies subconscious on bed.
It is wonderful that most human dreams come true subsequently to prove that we are spirits like God, the Master of all spirits, and proves God in manifestation.
At death, the soul and the spirit leave and never return to the physical body.
3. Testimony of God’s Power Over Limitations
All living things perform certain functions that only God controls. Medical Science will end up with the saying, “We care but God heals,” to showcase human limitations and divine supremacy over all extreme life situations like child bearing, healing terrible diseases, bringing the dead back to life, searching for solutions in complex matters like missing persons and violent marriages.
We pray and have faith for answers and most times the prayers are answered.
That is the reason why even great professionals, presidents of nations, governors, scientists, professors and researchers all believe in prayers.
Even though human science tries to get solutions to certain problems, it has always recognized that God is above all situations.
AI and other technologies produce only artificial things or resemblance of nature like model arms and legs for accident victims, etc., but only God produces the original products.
When all human efforts end and strength fails, people turn to prayers for miracles to happen. Even scientists pray too.
4. Testimony of Weird Creatures
There are some plants and animals that are naturally unusual and perform beyond their sizes and capabilities that make them weird, like spiders, honey bees, termites, etc., created to indicate to us that there is a God.
The Bible in Proverbs 6:6–11 NIV says:
“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer.”
Imagine God sending humans to ants to learn from them the wisdom of industry.
God shows His wisdom through weird creatures.
Ants have very tiny brains yet they perform great tasks among themselves and exhibit human instincts of love, cooperation and parental care.
Ants and spiders with their tiny brains build their homes with the super technology of modern engineering.
They also cohabit in colonies with different ants classified into groups like workers that look for food and bring them home, and soldiers that guard the queen and follow the workers to and from human habitats searching for food and protecting them from interference by biting intruders.
The technology of ants is similar to the operations and defense systems of modern cities.
Spiders have special techniques in building web engineering for their homes in wonderful geometrical ways.
The whales, dolphins, hippos, gators, sharks of the sea and eagles of the air all show tremendous powers in self-defense and parental care.
Lions, tigers, wild dogs, hogs, sloth, giraffes, deer and zebras are all created with wonderful features to behold and can be put in zoos or wild reserves for learning how wonderful the work of nature and the reality of God are.
The Bible talked about birds building nests and foxes living in holes.
Fish have great parental care and feed their babies and keep them like humans.
Lilies are beautifully decorated plants also spoken of in the Scriptures.
If God’s wonderful gifts can be given intentionally, it is for all humans to know that a supernatural Being is behind this wisdom that nobody has been able to recreate.
5. Testimony of the Earth and Its Fullness
Psalm 24:1 says:
“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the flowing streams.”
The earth is spherical but vast in all the resources that humans and nations would need in all times of life.
The Earth is blessed by God to contain gold, silver, iron, tin, bauxite, aluminium, manganese, petroleum, lead, etc., that form the wealth of nations.
It is like a package from a good father to his children to live on while away on holidays.
The Earth on its own expresses both the wealth, wisdom and kindness of God the Father.
No country is great without the advantages of Earth’s resources.
The resources were there since creation and nobody put them there. They are also inexhaustible.
The Earth’s resources must be tapped and developed for the use of nations, and nations who are lazy and ignorant tend not to care about their own resources, so they become poor like Africa.
Advanced nations and Israel develop their own resources to become great, from which they get oil and minerals for powering their automobiles and warships. They get iron, aluminium and tin to create automobiles, while silver and gold are used for ornaments in royal and wealthy homes.
Oil, gold and silver were the minerals that God placed in Canaan to make it suitable for Him to bless His son Abraham and the generation of Israelites, which He called a land flowing with milk and honey.
Other minerals are responsible for good production of crops locally and for cash exports.
The Earth is the house of great waters, seas and oceans with abundant plants and animal resources that form sources of national wealth and food.
Big whales, sharks, dolphins and fishes inhabit the oceans.
6. Testimony of the Sky (The Firmament)
The Psalmist says in Psalm 19:
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.”
The miracle of the firmament in its enormous size is like the wonders of the Earth in its enormous size which has no place of meeting, no beginning and no ending.
The firmament is the sky that separates the earth from the heavens.
The sky is an envelope of resources through which the Sun and rain flow to the Earth.
It is often cloudy and can be clear in good weather.
It permits man to travel by air and war planes.
Wonderfully, scientists mention the abundant resources that are also present in the firmament used in Medical Science and Engineering.
There are also uncountable species of animals, birds and reptiles that fly in the air.
The air is also the house of several gases used in science and technology.
The air is so vast and separated by layers of clouds visible while travelling in aeroplanes and war planes.
The firmament also houses the Sun, Moon and stars that are resources of light in different respects.
It is a medium through which light and heat permeate — a place that showcases the galaxies, another great wonderful work of creation.
It is also an enormous storage of human and nations’ wealth.
Conclusion
What wonderful visible works from the invisible God.
Yet, it is awesome that God made the Earth a permanent place of safe abode from all the wild creatures He put in the seas and forests such that the animals keep to themselves in their habitats without undue interference and trespass into human abodes.
The population of these wild animals, lions and tigers are far more, surpassing the population of humans.
The size of the great waters themselves are more than triple the size of land:
75% : 25%.
If these animals should come out of their abodes to land, no human would remain on Earth, but God keeps them in their habitats for human safety.
It is evidence that God is infinite in provision, protection and mercies.
