NIGERIA HIDDEN TREASURE
Most times we don’t value what we have until we lose it…
My visit has opened my eyes to understanding just a few hours inside the OOPL meaning if I stayed longer I would have been able to unlock the problem of Nigeria from the record-keeping of Baba Obasanjo. From his birth to family background, education with records of school results and pictures, occupation as a soldier and a farmer, daddy to his children with letters to back it up to the husband to his beloved late wife Stella where I could not hold back my tears as a special section of the library showcased her, his Network of friends while he served the country and out of the office and one caption I cannot easily erase from the tour was on his travels around the world which was equated to be more than a distance from the earth to the moon five times wao this man is an Ajala travel all over the world.
Baba Obasanjo kept records of Nigeria before independence the Biafra war his role which he wrote books on his sojourn to the prison and a model of the prison how the interior looked like and it was a shocking revelation of how if God was not on his side he would have been wasted and all this we are talking would have been another forgotten story of a legend alive, Baba is indeed a historian.
As if all this we saw was put up by best mind yet Baba proved himself the evening we had discussions with him his articulation and conjunction to response to questions thrown at him he responded with all wisdom and to crown it all he was sensitive and observant to his environment he was quick to spot the entry of the Olu of Ibara amidst us and deviated to telling a story of himself and the Olu of Ibara during there secondary school days to easy the discussion and returned back to the question he was responding to then I said this man at 84 clocking 85 march really deserved a third time if there is one but to my surprise he proved himself a global statesman the way he responded to all questions thrown at him
This made me to conclude Baba is a man who saw Nigeria yesterday today and the tomorrow of Nigeria
We are calling for lies in his hand he is indeed Aremu-Okin, Erinlakatabu, Ebora of owu, Africa’s Ambassador the HIDDEN TREASURE of Nigeria
