I am deeply honored and humbled to receive the award of Oil and Gas CEO of the Year (Midstream) at the BusinessDay Oil and Gas Awards 2021 yesterday.
This award and the others we have received over the course of our Duport journey is a recognition of the great teamwork, amazing dedication, and selflessness of a remarkable group of people; our partners, colleagues, investors, stakeholders, board members, regulators, and the communities we operate in. They are the actual stars, and I am standing on their shoulders.
This award recognition of Oil and Gas CEO of the year (Midstream) along with Duport Midstream Company Limited also winning Midstream Oil and Gas company of the year and the Oil and Gas Technology and Innovation company of the year from the leading Business media platform in Nigeria is a testament to what is possible when people galvanize around a vision and commit to being better versions of themselves.
What we are building at Duport is more than an energy park; we are seeking to showcase the possibilities we can unlock when we unleash local content, fuse our oldest industries based on natural resources with new ones based by technology, and driven by a young and determined group of African and Nigerian talent
I accept this award on behalf of all the staff, partners, stakeholders, and board members at Duport Midstream Limited. We work day and night to ensure that our desire for a narrative that is positive and stirring enough to make the next generation proud. It’s also recognition for the hundreds of people – partners, contractors, who we work with every day. Let this recognition fuel us as a team to do better, be better, and be focused.
