I chuckled as I read your comments- typical Edgar, trust you to share what I said…
I have two comments.
The first relates to the messiah. The short clip you sent was out of context- I now understand the basis for calling yourself a “messiah.” With this in mind, I can put my hand on my chest and say that the impact from the work I did for over 16 years at the Foundation makes me a messiah. Also, the time out I am taking to complete my program is to enable me become a messiah on a different platform. However, please do not refer to Anini as a messiah- darkness can never exist with light. My family was robbed by Lawrence Anini and Sunday Osunbo in August 1987 as we drove back in my father’s convoy of cars at a petrol station just on the way out of Benin. We had made a pit stop driving back from holiday in Onitsha and one of the cars was taken at gun point. This is a story for another time. The bottom line is that Anini had a “serpent” streak and NOT a messiah streak!
The second point referring to Nigeria as a poor country filled with incompetent people. I refuse to accept that labeling of Nigeria. Every nation has both competent and incompetent people. We must endeavor, as “messiahs” to promote the good as we correct the ills in our nation. A wife should not go round telling people that her husband is “useless” as that makes the man look bad in the eyes of the world and becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy for their children. No, Joseph, Nigeria is filled with talented people that need opportunities to express themselves. If Nigerians were not talented they won’t be lured out of the country to thrive in other countries as they work in different sectors to contribute to the growth of other economies! Nigeria is filled with resources and boundless opportunities and we must work collaboratively to co-create the best version of our nation for ourselves and the future generation!
