Today at the Nigeria Exchange Group NGX, we received the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs The Rt. Hon James Cleverly MP and the British High Commissioner, Dr. Richard Montgomery, where we discussed two levels with His Excellency.

Secondly, as an Exchange we also wish to discuss various ways that we can learn and benefit from the status of the United Kingdom and the City of London in particular as a global financial hub. We look forward to the facilitation by the High Commission of collaborations with institutions such as the London Stock Exchange Group in areas such as product development, technology, data solutions, sustainability initiatives, compliance and risk management. Where we believe we can leverage on the experience of our colleagues in the United Kingdom financial services industry to achieve our vision of being the most sustainable, most efficient and most attractive African Stock Exchange for local and global investors.
Lastly, at the Trading Floor I stated that the Securities Dealers on the trading systems are part of a community of over three thousand highly trained and versatile professionals that deals in millions/billions for local and foreign retail and wholesale clients. Also that we are as an exchange exploring linkages with other exchanges across West Africa and hope in the near future extend such partnerships across the continent and globally.
