Following prompting from the Lagos State Government major sponsors of Babakekere, the Command Performance, which hitherto was billed to take place on the 24th of April, has now been shifted to the 2nd May, 2022.
The much-expected play which perfectly depicts the life and times of the very first Executive Governor of Lagos State Alhaji Lateef Jakande will still have its public showings on the 15th and 16th of April, 2022 at the elegant Agip Recital Hall of the Muson Centre.
According to Mr. Bonu Solomon Special Adviser to The Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture who also doubles as CobExecutive Producer of the Play the shift became imperative to not only accommodate ‘our Muslim brothers who will be in the middle of Ramadan, it will also enable us to celebrate workers a day with all the workers allowing for an all-inclusive celebration of the ideals of the visionary alhaji Lateef Jakande
Already, very strong corporate institutions like First Bank of Nigeria, Zenith, Wema, and Anchor Insurance have moved in to support the Lagos State Government in a bid to push this story to the younger generations
